We want our people to stay and grow with us, so we’ll do everything we can to support you to achieve the kind of career you want.
Communication is at the heart of everything. Managers have regular chats with their teams and use a framework based on knowledge, skill and behaviour to work out if you’re ready to take the next step in your career or have any development gaps to fill.
We call this framework ‘Going for Gold’. It supports the creation of a personalised training matrix and enables you to access further self-led development, courses, coaching conversations, e-learning modules or qualifications.
You can access training courses on our online Learning Zone. It has a range of “5-minute coach” videos on topics such as ‘professional boundaries’ and ‘reporting concerns.’ You can also learn more about ‘leadership essentials’ and further develop your knowledge of our App and specialist subjects like dementia and end of life care.
We support as many people as we can to achieve an apprenticeship. We work with a range of quality training providers with high Ofsted ratings to deliver a wide range of qualifications. As a care assistant you would usually start with a Level 2 in Adult Social Care moving to a Level 3 & 4 programme in Adult Social Care or Team Leader for those who are eligible and keen to learn.
If you’re a registered manager, we’ll support you to achieve your Level 5 apprenticeship in leadership and management. We also offer apprenticeships in other areas of the business such as Finance, HR and IT if you want to build a career in another part of the company.
