Care assistant
day in the life
Every client is different, which means every day is different. You’ll never know what challenge you’re about to face or what adversity you’ll overcome. There’ll be laughter, tears, celebrations and significant moments to remember. You’ll be driven by the knowledge that you’re changing lives every single day, but you will also need resilience to be able to get up every day with a smile on your face, ready to do it all over again.
Each client will have their own individual care plan to follow, but you can expect to help with all sorts of practical tasks including shopping, housework, laundry and even personal admin.
Often you’ll need to help with intimate personal care that will mean helping a client to bathe, dress, manage incontinence or use the toilet. It could also involve helping someone to take medicines or prepare meals. And, in most settings, you’ll record everything on our digital system so that information can be easily shared with those that need to access it, such as healthcare professionals and family carers.
Real collaboration.
Real community.
You’ll be part of a wider care team and will have a branch manager, supervisor and care coordinator to support you, as well as your other care assistant colleagues. We’re big believers in collaboration and communication, so being part of the care team is all about sharing information, putting our clients’ needs first and working together to make every day the best it can be for everyone.
