Fixed Term Contract - 1st Feb 2025 to 31 March 2026

Hybrid role office based in Nottingham  NG7 2SZ

Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

Salary: £28,000 with a bonus of £2000 if contract completed

Job Description


What you’ll do

Operating within the Management Accounts team, the role holder will be responsible for ensuring revenue is calculated and reported appropriately and accurately to the relevant P&L’s each month across the branch network.

The role holder will be responsible for the provision of accurate, timely information for management on the revenue trends and reconciliation of month-to-month movements in revenue.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the accounts receivable department to ensure sales invoices are posted in a timely manner and to the correct branch within the Group.
  • Ensure the respective branch P&L’s include appropriate revenue figures every month by preparing and posting accurate accrual journals.
  • Support the analysis of monthly performance by providing analysis of revenue and movements month-to-month to various teams including the management accounts team, senior finance leads and operational leads on request.
  • Support with balance sheet reconciliations where necessary.
  • Support in the annual budgeting process to ensure revenue is budgeted appropriately.
  • Support with the annual audit by liaising with auditors on requests regarding revenue recognition.
  • Support the FP&A team will analysis and reconciliations as necessary.
  • Working with the Management Accounts team and Group Financial Accountant, ensure the integrity of the financial data supplied by the Finance team to other areas of the business and to external stakeholders.
  • Provide adhoc support as requested by management.
  • Maintain understanding and adhere to current financial regulations and legislation.

Qualifications


Ideal Experience & Competencies

Essential

  • Keen to pursue a career in accounting and start or continue to work towards a relevant qualification (such as ACCA or CIMA)
  • Some experience or exposure to accounting or a Finance function
  • Highly numerate demonstrated by the attainment of a relevant A level/university degree or AAT qualification
  • Be a team player with strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Good IT skills including intermediate level of use of Excel.
  • Take responsibility of own duties and be enthusiastic to take on new challenges.
  • Be well presented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise effectively
  • A commitment to continued personal development
