What you’ll do

This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your current skill base and join us as a Complex Care Assistant. You will have full training and clinical support to develop and improve skills in various complex areas such as tracheotomy, ventilation, seizure management, stoma care, and so much more! We care for and support people of all ages, in the community, and their homes, with Spinal Cord injury, Muscular dystrophy, acquired brain injuries and many other complex needs. Every day will be different. And you’ll never know what challenges you’re about to face next. One thing you can be sure of is that you’ll be making your clients’ days brighter, whilst developing your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

What you’ll need

Experience working in complex care with children is essential to applying for this role and plenty of care, compassion, and resilience. Experience in tracheostomy care, ventilation, PEG feeding, suctioning and catheter care is essential.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic carer to join our dedicated team, supporting a young child with complex medical needs in a home-based setting.

Our client is a bright, loving child who requires support with:

  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilator management
  • Cough assist and suctioning
  • PEG feeding

Though non-verbal, she is incredibly expressive and loves engaging with those around her. She enjoys watching her favourite shows (Peppa Pig is a top choice!), spending time with her siblings, and interacting with the family cat. Your role will involve not only clinical care but also fostering meaningful connection and emotional engagement.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience caring for individuals with similar medical needs
  • Confidence in managing tracheostomy and ventilator care
  • Warm, patient, and proactive personality
  • Ability to engage with a non-verbal child in playful and meaningful ways
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and joyful environment

Join us in making a real difference in a child’s life — your compassion and expertise will be truly valued.
