Hybrid role office based in Nottingham  NG7 2SZ

Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

Salary: £33,000 - £36,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)

Job Description


What you’ll do

The Management Accountant plays a crucial role in our finance team by providing insightful and timely financial analysis, reporting, and support to facilitate decision-making and safeguard the financial health of our organisation.

Add value to the business by providing timely and accurate financial analysis to enable department heads to monitor regional / company performance. Provide regular management reporting to internal management by the agreed deadlines.

Responsibilities

Monthly Reporting

  • Responsibility for the review of monthly management accounts for designated regions covering KPI, variance analysis and commentary in accordance with the agreed corporate timetable for senior management review.
  • Collaborate with teams across finance, payroll and ledgers to ensure accurate transaction recording & monitoring.
  • To present draft and final results to department heads, interpret and explain key variances.
  • Act as the finance department contact for designated regions / companies; providing them with financial assistance and ad hoc analysis where necessary.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Responsible for the compilation of the annual budget in conjunction with the department heads and finance business partners.
  • Preparation of periodic revenue and expenditure forecasts, variance analysis and commentary in accordance with the agreed corporate timetable for senior management review.
  • To be able to interpret and discuss the forecast results with department heads and any risks or opportunities that may impact future financial performance.
  • Act as the finance department contact for designated departments; providing them with financial assistance and ad hoc analysis where necessary.

Team

  • To build strong working relationships within finance and the business.
  • To contribute to the wider team during month end, forecast and budgeting to provide timely and accurate reports and analysis for senior management.

Other Duties

  • Providing various ad-hoc analysis as required within finance by finance business partners, Head of FP&A and CFO.

Qualifications


Ideal Experience & Competencies

  • Part or fully qualified Accountant
  • Previous management accounting experience, particularly in interpreting and presenting results to financial and non-financial individuals.
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience analysing large data sets
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency in Vlookups, pivot tables, as well as familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communicator and team player.
  • Organised, confident and driven to achieve.
  • Creative problem solver with a drive for continuous improvement and efficiency in processes.
