Company Description

Help someone feel understood, supported and confident in their own home.

A conversation in a familiar language can make everyday care feel more comfortable and personal. At MiHomecare, we’re looking for female Gujarati-speaking Community Support Workers to support specific clients with their daily routines, independence and wellbeing.

Whether you’re helping someone get ready for the day, preparing their favourite meal or taking time to listen, your support will make a meaningful difference.

You’ll join MiHomecare, part of City & County Healthcare Group, where kindness, dignity and respect are at the heart of the care we provide.

Why these roles require female Gujarati-speaking carers

These particular roles involve providing intimate personal care to clients whose care needs require a female worker to preserve their dignity and privacy during activities such as washing, dressing and toileting.

For these specific posts, being female is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1, paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

Gujarati-speaking skills are essential to meet the clients’ communication needs, helping them express their wishes and feel understood throughout their care. Applicants of all ethnic backgrounds who meet the role requirements are welcome.

Job Description

You’ll support clients in their own homes, following individual care plans and respecting their choices, preferences and routines.

Your role may include:

  • Personal care: supporting washing, dressing, grooming and toileting while preserving dignity and privacy.
  • Medication support: providing reminders or assistance in line with care plans and your training.
  • Meals and nutrition: preparing meals and drinks and providing support at mealtimes.
  • Mobility support: helping people move safely using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Practical help: assisting with light housework, laundry and shopping.
  • Companionship: sharing conversations, offering reassurance and supporting social connections.
  • Care records: accurately recording support provided and reporting changes or concerns.

Your Gujarati language skills will help clients express their needs, understand their care and feel involved in everyday decisions.
