What you’ll do
You will provide compassionate, one-to-one care for a young child with complex medical and physical needs in their family home. The role includes supporting clinical care such as airway management including suctioning, deep suctioning and chest physiotherapy, and gastrostomy PEG care, including administering blended feeds and medication. As the child is non-ambulant, you will also assist with transfers and repositioning.
You will accompany the child to school and support their participation in learning and daily activities. A key part of the role is encouraging interaction and engagement through play, including sensory activities, water play and outdoor time. You will also work closely with the family to help the child remain involved in everyday family life.
Experience with suctioning and PEG feeding, as well as supporting individuals with complex care needs, is essential. This role would suit someone who is patient, reliable and passionate about helping a child live a full and happy life.
